5 out of 5 stars What a great card!   June 1, 2008

Though expensive, this card is wonderful. It will hold almost 7,000 4 mega pixel pictures (the setting I leave it on) and about 63 minutes of vga video with sound. I bought it for its high capacity and speed. While the ultra II would have been sufficient for picture taking speed, the thought of downloading 8 GB of pictures and videos at anything less than max speed was scary. It gets near 6 mb per second when downloading pictures to the computer, but when it starts downloading video files, the speeds continually increase. I saw it get to 9 mb/sec once. This card is worth the price and very helpful.

I've waited for quite some time for this chip to come down in price! If you shoot much in raw mode then you need this! I originally bought the 2gb version of this when I bought my Pentax K10d 10megapixel. With the 2gb chip I didn't take too many photos in raw mode due to it only allowed a little over 100 shots. With the 8gb chip the camera shows room for almost 500 shots but that is not entirely accurate because not every shot is the max size of 16mb so you actually get more than what the camera says you will get. On top of all of this, this chip is the fastest I've been able to find that will keep up with the continuous shot feature. I usually get 8 or 9 shots without any delay before it slows down. My camera takes 3 hots per second so I get three seconds of fast action shooting. After a few seconds of saving all those I can start all over again. I use my 2gb for backup now just in case I fill the 8gb up. I have yet to need to use my backup chip!

One of the comments on this card stated it didn't work in any computer unless using the multi-mate reader...this is true. Most computers do not recognize these HC cards. No problem, just get a reader.

Funny thing is, how I found out was in Circuit City, and none, no kidding, of the sales people knew this.

The reader is cool anyway because you can put it in your camera case and use it to download photos to anyones computer without the silly card or using the camera to do it. However, we tried the reader in a MAC and had trouble, but that's a MAC.

The card is awesome!

5 out of 5 stars 8GB SD Card   May 5, 2008

Only SD cards I buy are from SanDisk as they're fast, reliable, good value as you often with the higher end and larger cards, you get a pouch, reader and retrieval software and the warranty is unbeatable. You don't get all of that with other brands even with brands such as Kingston which will undoubtedly be more expensive.

5 out of 5 stars Posting my review in the 8GB though I bought a 4.   April 25, 2008

My 4GB SDHC works perfectly in my new camera. I just point and click, and am using a Samsung S85. I do not take enough pictures nor am I skilled enough in photography to justify purchasing a DSLR.

The card however works perfectly, and seems to be fast. (Haven't ran any benchmarks)

Throwing my 4GB review here, to counter the uninformed poster that gave it a 2 star because he wanted an SD card, and not an SDHC.
