 Not Compatible with Marantz PMD670 / PMD671 recorders February 7, 2008

After much research on the Marantz website, and also reading the reviews on this CF-card on the Amazon site, I decided to order two of these Dane-Elec 4GB 133X CF cards ..
They format fine in my HP mediacenter PC, however my just-delivered Marantz PMD671 keeps telling me that the card must be formatted in my PC...
My guess is that this Dane-Elec CF card has a compatibility issue with the Marantz PMD670 or PMD671-series ..
Unfortunately, the Marantz site is very vague about what types of cards are compatible.. This review is a caution for anyone else who plans to purchase this Dane-Elec CF card for use in a Marantz digital audio recorder ..
My next step is to return these two 4GB cards to Amazon for credit against a card that is proven to be compatible in the PMD671 ..
GRRRR!!-- compact flash cards are supposed to adhere to a standard !!

I got this and immediately put it in my camera. The storage capacity in a Canon Digital Rebel XT is 999 pictures. I could shoot most of the day except for the fact that the CF card is so fast. The tranfer rate on this is of equal or better speed than a more expensive SanDisk. I will not buy anything but a Dane now.
