Got this camera for Skype calls with friends. Just plug in, adjust your sound settings so the default is the camera and you are ready to go. Works great. Video is excellent as is the sound pick up for audio.

Don't have time to write much but I use it on top of my 65" tv to talk with the fiance on skype and it's amazing. The autofocus and light detection are awesome. It works fantastic and looks great. Plus having the blue led on when video is working is great. Mount is very easy and built in microphone works great.

I had been looking for a webcam for my laptop and am so happy to have received this Microsoft LifeCam Cinema. After using this device for a few months now, I have to say it works great. I mainly use this to connect with my family via Skype and haven't had any problems so far.
The webcam was easy to install and the software, while a bit lackluster, is fine for my uses. I really like the size of this model. It's not too clunky and it rests easily on my laptop with its adjustable gripper. Because of the gripper, if you need to move the camera around while skyping (to showcase a room, animals, etc)you can easily unclip it and then reclip again when your are stationary.
The camera consistently gives me clean, crisp, widescreen images. I honestly can't say I've had a problem with this camera yet!
If you need a easily portable camera for your laptop or computer, check this one out. It's worth it!

This is by far the best webcam I have purchase. This thing work with all my computers including my Ubuntu Linux computer. Very good video quality for a webcam. I won't replace your HD camcorder but it does video web call very well. You will need a fast processor to run HD video on Linux and Windows.

Microsoft LifeCam Cinema is not bad for the price for a 720p HD webcam. Not only it gives out a clear video/picture, with it's TrueColor technology, even on the darkest lit room, it automatically adjust the brightness and colors to make it seem like there is more lighting in the video. Although, the video can be a bit laggy if there isn't enough lighting in the room. So it's preferable of using this camera during daylight.
The microphone of the webcam is not bad yet not it's best. I was hoping for more of studio quality from the webcam but it's acceptable. Though, it does cancel the background noise but if you are using your webcam near an AC or a ceiling fan, the microphone will pick it up real easy and can block the sound. Also you can slightly hear the AC running so it's best if you use this camera in a quiet environment.
The Auto focus of the webcam is not bad! I tried to have the camera focus on my iTouch to one of my friends (only 4 in. away from the camera) and you can see how clear it can get! The only thing that really bugs me is how the webcam tends to Auto focus constantly. Luckily, you can manually adjust your webcam settings to avoid that (while TrueColor Technology is OFF) when it comes to using this webcam on applications such as Skype, AIM, MSN Messenger, etc.
The program that comes with the webcam is alright. Although I do love the effects it came with but the program itself can take a lot of memory(RAM) to process (I use Windows 7).
Overall, I am pretty happy with this camera for the price. It is what I expected it as it describe in the product info. I do RECOMMEND this product if you want to save money a high quality webcam, this product is for you.
