Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars camera sucks   December 13, 2003
this camera sucks bigtime! i bought it and had a tough time installing it on my laptop (winXP).. the customer support is bad... the software has major problems...

after installation it did not quite work.. the power would go off after a few seconds.. overall a big failure... probably the worst product ever from creative!

1 out of 5 stars Poor image quality   May 26, 2003

This webcam by Creative Labs is not too good. The image quality is poor even by webcam standard, and it does *not* have auto focus, which means you have to adjust the focus ring each time you move. Unlike Logitech's ClickSmart, you cannot use this one as a take-along digital camera. And even Ezonics makes cheaper and better-quality webcams than this.

1 out of 5 stars No linux support   December 2, 2002

I would have liked to try this product although I had to take it back and get a Phillips webcam because there was no support for running this product on Linux and I refuse to run Micro$oft products on my computers.

Creative support through their website was also of no use in trying to get this running in linux. They simply do not care about non Windows users.

3 out of 5 stars Cheap... but... cheap.   November 24, 2002

This webcam is pretty inexpensive, but the quality is very bad. The image is extremely noisy, and that affects very badly the ability of the codecs to encode the video efficiently. In other words, If you can't afford to get a slightly better camera, I guess it's ok. If you can, buy something a more expensive.

4 out of 5 stars [inexpensive] and easy   July 9, 2002

it's easy to install, it's [inexpensive], and it does the trick. if you want to show someone somebody and not want to spent too much money this is it. the only downside is that the focus is not all that impressive.
