Very Good Guide for Understanding the Canon 580EX Flash May 27, 2008 Thomas Grimes I found this book to be a very good guide to understand the 580EX flash unit made by Canon. It is well organized and illustrated with easy to understandable text. I would recommend it to anyone who has not mastered this flash unit which is complex. The author makes it easy to understand the functions and procedures to obtain a desired purpose that I believe is better presented than the Canon manual.
Amateurish waste of money April 5, 2008 J. Szymanski 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This was a big waste of money. The writing was amateurish, the examples poorly described, and I learned almost nothing from reading this book. I had to Google to learn about my 430EX because the book failed to explain key concepts.
Helpful Book February 16, 2008 Bank Al Jazira (KSA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It's good to find a book that can help you to understand the functionality of the speedlite, and this book is what I was searching for.
Doug's Review January 28, 2008 D. Powell (Omaha, Ne) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Canon Speedlite system field guide is a very informative. It is precise and to the point. It is easy to read and understand. The illustrations are well presented and because of the layout of this particular book in question, I have a much better understanding of my flash unit. It far outseeds the manual that comes with the unit. I highly recomend this book. A+ A+ A+ A+ Thanks.
Good companion to the manual December 15, 2007 Joshua M. Schmidt (Austell, Ga. USA.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It complements the manual very well. The Author includes not only how the 430/580EX flashes work and all of the different functions of each, but also some sample set ups and how to get the most from your 430/580EX. I wouldn't hesitate to get this, very informative and written along the lines of the other books from the "Digital Field Guide" series.
