Amazon.com Money maven Suze Orman's latest book, Women & Money addresses the complicated (and often dysfunctional) relationship women have with personal finance. Orman's direct, non-condescending style is perfect for this subject matter--she begins with the premise that "Women can invest, save, and handle debt as well and skillfully as any man" and then tackles the important question--"So why don't they?" Designed to educate and inspire, Women & Money also offers a "Save Yourself Plan," a five-month program that "delivers genuine long-term financial security." Want to know more? Watch a video message from Suze below, and take a gander at the first chapter of Women & Money--you'll be "controlling your destiny" in no time. --Daphne Durham An Exclusive Video Message from Suze Orman

For Women Only
I never thought I'd write a book about money just for women. I never thought it was necessary. So then why am I doing just that in my eighth book? And why now? Let me explain. All my previous books were written with the belief that gender is not a factor on any level in mastering the nuts and bolts of smart financial management. Women can invest, save, and handle debt just as well and skillfully as any man. I still believe that--why would anyone think differently? So imagine my surprise when I learned that some of the people closest to me in my life were in the dark about their own finances. Clueless. Or, in some cases, willfully resisting doing what they knew needed to be done. I'm talking about smart, competent, accomplished women who present a face to the world that is pure confidence and capability. Do you mean to tell me that I, Suze Orman, who make my living solving the financial problems of total strangers, couldn't spot the trouble brewing so close to home? I don't think I'm blind; I just think that these women became very, very good at hiding their troubles from me.Why not? They had years of practice hiding them from themselves.

Women & Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny August 30, 2008 Heidi Wilson Women & Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny This book is great and very informative. I got divorce after 18 years, had to sell our home, gave him our business, and had to start over. He said I couldn't make it without him. This books encourages you and helps you get started on a new life. I now own my own home, flipping houses, have an apartment house and still have my full time job with benefits. My ex was a spender so even with less income I now have a savings account and started on my way to a great new life and making my own decisions!
Helpful Even If You Don't Have Money, Yet! August 18, 2008 agolden (Chicago, IL) I love this book! I've always liked Suze (although I was never crazy about her presentation style) but I also thought that you had to have some money to work with before you would benefit from anything she was saying. This book is great because it gives you things to start doing today, no matter what your financial situation is, that will allow you to be in a better situation 6 months from now. She also stresses the importance for women to have their own money! You just never know what the future will hold, and there is no way that any woman should be totally dependent on her partner!
Self Help but Clear August 14, 2008 donnella's closet Its still suprising how many people don't realize or understand finances this is a great book for the novice to get an easy understanding of where you should be at 20,30 or even 50!
Women And Money August 13, 2008 S. Brucker I am learning quit a lot about my investments and chooseing the best plan for me. I feel more informed when I talk to the broker after reading this book.
Women and $elf-worth August 6, 2008 Deb (Palo Alto, CA) Believe it or not, this book is a book about women and relationships. That is, the relationships women have with their money. In her characteristically direct, clear, and here's-what-you-need-to-know style, Suze exposes (in a no-shame/no-blame way) the dysfunctional relationship women have had with money, and then provides a step-by-step five-month plan to help set the stage for a lifetime of financial security. Whether or not you follow all the steps now, this book provides an amazing guide to the essentials of financial planning--from setting up a checking and savings account to investing in stocks and bonds to creating wills and trusts. The overriding theme of the book is quite an empowering and inspiring one: it's time that women realize the value of what they are truly worth...and protect themselves accordingly.
