A San Francisco Giants GEM of a book...... June 20, 2008 K. Zeman (Paradise,CA) If your a loyal S.F. Giants lover, you'll need to get this fantastic history book. (with simply great pictures) It covers the Giants days at the old S.F. Seals ball park at 16th and Bryant. I use to get there on the Muni for I think 5 or 10 cents each way. But more than a fan gem, it covers the Giants MLB history like no other book. A great gift, should be displayed on a coffee table etc., etc.
Ouch! Reading this really hurt! June 19, 2008 bookworm35 (Burlingame, CA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm sure the author is a nice guy and everything, but he writes like an eleven year old! This photos are nice, but I can look at those on the internet for free. Save your money on this one, folks. Buy game tickets instead. No matter how obnoxious the fans are around you....they can't be worse than this guy!
A "Must Have" for any SF Giants or Baseball fan! May 18, 2008 Crawdaddy (Santa Clara, CA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I just received this book as a gift, and I could not put it down. I've been a Giants fan since 1968. My favorite memories include The Say Hey kid Willie Mays, Juan Marichal's high leg kick, Willie McCovey stretching at 1st base and hitting monster HR's, Tito Fuentes bat flip at home plate, etc. This book captures all of those moments and a whole lot more. There are rarely seen photo's(over a thousand), and interesting quotes from former and current team personel. My 6 year old daughter even enjoyed looking at all of the photo's, and listening to her dad's stories of some of his favorite Giants. There is also an audio CD included in the book with selected highlights from the past 50 years. I would highly recommend giving this book as a Father's Day or Birthday gift for your favorite SF Giants fan. It will be the favorite gift of whomever is on the receiving end! GO GIANTS!
