Interesting but May 17, 2008 L. Bedford (Adkins, TX USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
In some ways, this book is interesting-interviews and biographies of some top photo journalists. However, it is full of stereotyped photograghs. Endless war pictures, gritty images of disasters or third world people struggling. Photojournalism is about all of life, both the gritty and the joyful. There isn't much joyful but there are plenty of cliches. I would get this book from the library, study it and return it. But not buy it.
Excellent April 30, 2007 Garry K. Tan 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a great, highly recommended book of photos with captions of some of the best photojournalists of the past twenty years. The bios have great descriptions of how each photographer got into the business, and also what type of gear they use. A great glimpse into this powerful art form.
