Product Description
Spirit of the West showcases David's most beautiful and powerful images of the working cowboys, cowgirls, and horses that he has befriended in the last fifteen years of photographing ranches across the American West. David's fascination with the American West led him to befriend, and subsequently photograph, the men and women still breathing life into the mythical figure of the cowboy.

Breathtaking pictures June 23, 2008 Bjarne Perstuen Hansen (Norway) This book was above my expectation. The pictures are just fantastic and there are a lot of them and complemented by a few good comments. The large format makes it a pleasure for the eye.
just what the doctor ordered October 5, 2007 john washington I received two photo books of the west for my birthday last month, one I gave away, this one, Spirit of the West, is a keeper. Fans of both the west and photography should enjoy this book. There is a nice balance of quiet, calm shots as well as energetic, action packed images. I recommend this book also because the author seems to know his subject matter well; he lives on a ranch and no doubt grew up loving the west, it shows. The other album I received was by a photographer from Europe, his images were very, very ordinary. As a fan of western films and literature I give this book high recommendations.

My favorite big time hobby is photography. I appreciate this book very much as I know a little of what the author went thru to capture some of the pictures. Not only does the book bring alive the "old west" in the now, but he gets right out there with the cows and horses, rain or snow and gets some unusual photo shots. It is not a book to rush thru and just look at pictures, it is a book to savior and look at details.
