5 out of 5 stars KODAK Easy Share Printer Dock CX/DX 3000/4000   March 10, 2004

It is 03/10/2004 A.D. now and this magnificent machine is working well still and not a flaw. Ease, usages, portability, working with Windows 98 First Editon on a 266 MHZ work horse were contibuting factors. Buying this and DX 4530 Made in China designed in Japan cameras was important in choosing this One-Touch photo printer.

Cost is always a factoring in any purchase. Buying here helped by the reviews, knowledge and cost comparisons worked.

The packets of photo paper and rolls for the media of inks (included in each package) was a major factor why I used this here to buy it. The cost was lower than anywhere else I found.

So far after many hours of usages this is still working and no glitches.

The Windows 98 First Edition works with this well so other people in the world which are not swayed by getting a new non working errror prone and unstable operating system. Some people may not be able to get those either ( they are very lucky in my opinion too )

Kodak (EK+NYSE) has a winner here in the long term and probably may have interchangeable brackets for different camera models also .

A marvelous piece of equipment. Affording it is vital for a purchase too. So use price comparisons here then compare them.

Read all you are able to help you decide . This has many a=advantages as one is ease of usage. A touch of a button gives you linkage, printage or more.

The cost basis for paper as in any printer can be lowered if you compare it.

We did here and saved immensely. Being an American Kodak named product does have many advantages.

The desk top size is great. Fit and finish is well.

We purchased this with a DX4539 and are estataic about these.

Afford it then try it. We like it.

3 out of 5 stars Not Very Economical   January 29, 2004

The quality of the photographs generated by the Printer Dock 4000 are superb. The pictures are super. Figuring the costs associated with the Printer Dock, the user will find out each photo costs about $.63 using the dock. Several photo shops and even the common drug stores will produce outstanding photographs from your digital camera for just $.29 per photo. Some online photo services will also provide this service. My opinion is that the Printer Dock 4000 should not be purchased. It is not an economically sound decision, but the convenience is great.

2 out of 5 stars Not very computer compatible   January 20, 2004

I bought the Easy Share 4530 and the Printer Dock 4000. The camera is great and takes beautiful pictures. The prints look very nice when printed directly from the camera to the dock. But the dock and it's software doesn't communicate with computers at all. Nothing will transfer to the computer from dock. I called tech support twice, when I got done doing all of the steps they put me through my computer wouldn't even restart. Too much trouble!! All in all, not really worth the money if you have a good printer with your computer.

5 out of 5 stars Great set-up   January 17, 2004

I think this set-up, offered only by Kodak (though there is a similar system from Canon that's pricier), is outstanding on so many levels. For those of us who aren't big on picture-taking (and then don't want half of the pictures that we DID take on a traditional 35mm film roll), this saves money on printing photos in the long run, and you can print as many copies as you want without special-ordering at the photo counter or just having to get doubles and hope you can force all of your copies on someone else. Plus there's the immediate gratification factor - no need to run to the store to print pictures from your digital. In the end, I don't think it's any more expensive than if you buy glossy print paper and use the ink in your regular computer printer; in addition, it's a lot easier. I'm a big fan.
