Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
By reducing the light reflected from non-metallic surfaces, polarizing filters allow direct shooting through glass windows and reduce the effect of glare from water surfaces and sunlit trees and grass. In outdoor shooting, the filter can even deal effectively with light reflected on steam or airborne dust particles to enhance the sky's blue color.

3 out of 5 stars vignetting with 24-70mm   January 3, 2009
Aziz Tnani (tunis, Tunisia)
I'm using the polarizer with a nikon 24-70 mm 2.8 and it introduces vignetting when on 24mm. At the end I'm not using it that much.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent filter   December 8, 2008
DigitalMan (Denver, CO)
Nikon's circular polarizers are made specifically for the Nikkor lenses. The thing ring mount is excellent and the optical quality of the glass filter is superb. It does an excellent job of polarizing out glare on foliage and surface water and well as deepening the blue in skies.

5 out of 5 stars What's not to like?   October 24, 2008

I know, I know - Nikon gear is really expensive. But I think it's still one of the few things in life where you get what you pay for. As my uncle once told me, "Kid, if you want the best things in life, you've got to be prepared to get ripped off to get them." Truer words were never spoken.

Would I like to pay a little less (or maybe even a lot less)? Sure. But this product performs, it's well machined and I suspect it will last me a good long time. Works for me. In the grand scheme of things, I'll forego two reasonable dinners and take the polarizer any day...

I used this filter several times and it performs just like any other Nikon product. The best part about this filter is how it reduces window and water reflections. Excellent!

Bought this for my Canon lens :) . Works well. Has the thread so you can mount the lens cap when not in use. Very nice compare to the more expensive BW
