It works, but could be a lot more solid November 15, 2008 Sebastian Heinz (Madison, WI, USA) It works, but the build quality is so poor that I don't use it = waste of money. You basically have to hold both flash and camera, since the plastic will not support the weight of either.
flimsy plastic :-( September 11, 2008 N. Larson Don't get this if you plan on using it on a SLR with any real flash - I should have paid attention to the reviews - it is too light to hold up a 540EZ or any similar flash.
Sunpak Flash Adaptor gets the job done. September 6, 2008 L. Copeland (Half Moon Bay, Ca. United States) This slave flash works just fine with my Sony Cybershot DSC-W1. I am very pleased with it as it solved flash shading problem when using Sony's wide angle lens adaptor. The flash syncs reliabily through the hot shoe using the 2nd delay setting. An unexpected benefit using the adapter is the added camera stability produces sharper photos. Only downside with the handle shape is it easy to sometimes cover the flash sensor with your finger.
Useful, though fragile and need to experiment to find adequate setting July 19, 2008 RK 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The slave adapter does what it's supposed to do, but you need to experiment considerably to figure out best setting both on the adapter and on the camera. One big problem is that the build is pretty flimsy. Drop it and you easily break the battery door. Also, the slave may not trigger outdoors or in large rooms far from reflecting surfaces, when the sensor does not detect the camera's built-in flash.
works well June 9, 2008 Frederick M. Makrancy 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this as a slave for my Kodak digital because the onboard flash for it did not seem to work very well with indoor shots. I wanted to get more depth and this slave flash worked fine. My Kodak doesnt have any jacks for the hotwire so the features of the flash arent really available to me. It seems to be a very nice unit for the money.
