Amazon.com Product Description
The Lorex VS6438 2.4 GHz 4-channel Wireless Video Sender with IR Extender lets you easily and instantly upgrade your existing video system by adding wireless capability. The VS6438 system comprises two units that send and receive clear video and stereo-audio wirelessly from one-to-another via their built-in dipole antenna. This system includes convenient features such as a 300-foot wireless transmission distance (in open spaces), and the ability to change TV functions from a remote location via the remote-control IR (InfraRed) extender. The Lorex VS6438 is a great option for sending a digital video signal to a second TV from a satellite, DVD or security camera when running cable is not an option.

The Lorex VS6438 wireless system operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency and features a four-channel selection for the sender-unit that allows you to connect up to four video devices simultaneously without signal interference. The VS6438 sender includes a built-in RF (radio frequency) FM modulator, while both units run on nine-volt DC adapters, and have operating temperatures of -10 to 50 degrees Celsius. The VS6438 wireless sender and receiver easily connect to video devices and standard TVs and VCRs via included RCA audio/video cables, although the receiver alone has an additional coaxial cable connector. Identical in their shape, the sender and receiver units are both approximately 5.25 x 1.5 inches (diameter x depth) in dimension.

What's in the Box
Wireless receiver, wireless transmitter, remote control IR extender, 2 AC adapters, 2 RCA A/V cables, coaxial cable, and owner's manual.

1 out of 5 stars Very Poor. AVOID   January 7, 2008
OnlineBC (Victoria, BC Canada)
Tried a cheaper Lorex version of this from "The Source", remote IR didnt work, so I tried this one, and the picture is slightly worse, tried all 4 channels and different output channels but it still doesn't work as well as the cheap one at half the cost. Audio is scratchy and full of pops and clicks and the picture jumps around a lot. Again, the IR extender simply does nothing at all. I have tried many different positions for the IR extender LED but nothing works. It seems that certain DVD remotes might work but my satellite receiver does not work at all with this. My installation is roughly 30'- 35' and through several walls. It may be possible to get a good picture maybe even audio if you have a very short run, like through one wall, within 10 feet, but it's probably wiser to avoid this one.

1 out of 5 stars good idea that dosen't even work half as good as stated   April 29, 2007

I purchased this product for rv to watch satellite outside at campsite. the video works good but audio has a lot of problems. If you get audio to work video rolls alot.range is very limited at best 25' says it will get 300' clear site. In my rv window (open no screen) sitting 15'-20' away had to constantly fiddle with reciever and transmitter to get it to work. Easier to run cable out window! like I said if it worked HALF as good as they say, it would be ok but unfornatly, I will send this back I probably will get charged shipping both ways so BEWARE OF THIS PRODUCT!!!

1 out of 5 stars Past performance not a guarantee of future results...   October 1, 2006

I owned the predecessor to this system, also from Lorex. I used it with a TiVo, to use my TiVo (series 1) on another TV. The remote IR extender was critical to our use. The old system wore out from heavy use. I needed to replace it. I figured buying the same brand was a no-brainer.

This new system's IR extender is incompatible, apparently, with the TiVo. It works fine for controlling other things like the TV, but not the TiVo. Also, the picture quality is very poor, despite attempts to move it all over to different locations. I am extremely disappointed.

1 out of 5 stars Great Idea Whose Time Hasn't Come   September 17, 2005
Tracey Butler (Hyde Park, NY)
I really wanted this product to work for our RV lifetstyle. We have a satellite connection for the motorhome, and I wanted to set up this unit so we could also watch TV outdoors also. However, the static was so noisy and the picture flickered so much that this unit did not work satisfactorily. It also had the same problems in my home with a tv in another room. Unfortunately, I had to return the unit to Amazon.
