1 out of 5 stars Camera Sucks!   January 2, 2009

This camera sucks! I hate it, it takes crappy pictures and is a total waste of money. What a rip off.

4 out of 5 stars functional for the price   October 14, 2008
Steven Weber (Berln, NH USA)
I carried this camera for nearly 800 miles of hiking on the Appalachian Trail this spring, summer and fall. It took a lot of nice pictures along the way. It was reliable and still works great. Since it was cheap, if I lost it, dunked it or otherwise damaged it, I would not have been out a lot of money. Thankfully, that never happened.

The best part was the batteries lasted forever. I finally changed them from the first set after 4 months, not because the orignals were dead, but just on princable. The SD card requirement was a plus for me. I had a 1 GB card already and was able to transfer the pictures to a PDA using the SD card for up load to the web via wi-fi without cables between the two. Plus a 1 GB card will store a LOT of photos. The camera's reasonably small size and light weight were also a plus for a long distance hiking trip, when you carry everything on your back. Or in this case, on a pack strap for easy access. All in all, I found this to be a great little camera and was glad I didn't get one with rechargable batteries which go dead after a short time so need frequent recharging, something which isn't too easy to do when your in the woods most of the time!

5 out of 5 stars they work   July 19, 2008

most of the other reviews say that this is a piece of junk...i hate say they're wrong but...they are. for the price it's an excellent camera. my mom bought 2 of these at wal-mart for my little brother & sister to save on film for when they're practicing photography. I've used them and while they aren't the best digital cameras around, they are the best for the price. and like one other reviewer said they need to be focused very carefully or the picture will turn out blurry. plus, my little brother and sister can shoot to their hearts content and not have to worry about the price of film.

edit: if i remember correctly they cost us $20 at wal-mart; but that was about a year ago. i'd recommend buying this one instead: http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Concepts-Camera-Screen-Silver/dp/B00191M3JK/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1217040794&sr=1-6 same camera but about half the price of this one (go under 'new & used' to find the $20 one)

1 out of 5 stars run away   February 19, 2008

If I could give this item less than 0ne star I would. My son bought this camera with gift cards from his bday and was so excited. We get the thing home and you can only take 2 pictures - and get this - when you turn the camera off the are deleted! What is the purpose of even having a camera? So we get a SD card like it says. Now we can take 28 pictures (better) but it STILL deletes the pictures when you turn the camera off. What a waste * shaking head*

1 out of 5 stars Avoid this - it's not worth your time   June 11, 2007

Clunky icon interface that I can't figure out, low res display, flash severly over-exposes, you have to be dead to hold this still enough to get a photo that isn't blurred, the quality of a clear photo isn't even as good as the original 1st generation 2-4 Megapixel cameras. I spent 15 minutes with it and it's going back to Walmart. I can't believe they can sell something this awful. I should have looked for the reviews here, but didn't think this brand would be on Amazon. I wouldn't even give this to a kid.
