Happy after cropping all my photos June 18, 2008 Thomas J. Utley Jr. (Tucson, AZ) My wife and kids bought a 128Mb version of this frame for me for a Father's Day gift. I was really excited about setting it up on my desk at work until I loaded a bunch of photos and realized the aspect ratio of the screen is different than the aspect ratio of my photos. The screen is around 16:9, whereas my photos are all 6:4. The result was that the photo frame either pushed the tops and bottoms of each photo off-screen, or else I was left with black bars on either side (depending on the picture size option you choose in the setup menu).

I was able to set up a custom cropping aspect ratio, then crop 287 photos in around 45 minutes. After cropping all the photos to fit the screen, they fill it up nicely and I'm happy with the product.
I dinged it one star for not making it clear the screen ratio isn't naturally compatible with the standard digital photo size ratio.
A little flimsy January 31, 2008 D. McCarthy (Lansing, Michigan) I like the product. It does what it's supposed to do, but the darn thing has a tough time staying upright. The slightest bump of my desk or brush of the frame when I'm reaching for a folder sends it tumbling. I afraid that I'm going to break.
If I could give it negative stars I would January 14, 2008 J. Cosgrove (New York) I spent 10 hours on this turkey and have not yet been able to get it to work. I downloaded jpegs from my camera and it said improper format. The manual said jpegs were the expected format but nothing about size of the jpeg or if there is any difference between jpegs. The pnone number they give is busy 100% of the time. The website has nothing to do with anything about the digital frame and just sends you to various resellers where you can buy the product. Even if you press the link for the latest manual you get resellers as a result.
Piece of junk, buggy December 17, 2007 Chris J. Wilkes (Seattle, WA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have the 6" version from another retailer. Problems include: 1) showing "unsupported photo" for random photos even though they all came from the same camera, 2) not being able to mount as a drive unless you power off and reboot the frame, and then if you want to see the frame in action you have to power off and unplug the USB cable, 3) you can't tell what a photo will look like till you go through the ordeal of rebooting and so it takes a long time to crop the images correctly, 4) no ability to set a pan up/down setting so you have to crop images if the magical area that it choses for your image isn't the right one, 5) scrolling through images works about half the time, seems to have a mind of its own if it lets you scroll through and what image it shows next, 6) I've zoomed in on an image, but can't zoom out -- who let that out of QA?, 7) most likely they use linux for the operating system but I don't see a download for it on their website.
I don't think there is a good thing about this unit.
Broken Right Out of the Box December 13, 2007 Janet M. Neal 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased two of these as Christmas gifts for relatives. I decided to open them and load their internal memories with photos so they would be ready when unwrapped. I found the frames would only display four of the fifty-five photos I uploaded. I read the instructions carefully but they were poorly translated from some other language. I enlisted the help of my son, who is a fair hand with technical things, but he could not make the frames work either. No matter what we did, only the same four photos would display. I am returning this item. Don't buy it.
