5 out of 5 stars SPEEDLITE   July 30, 2010
TOOLATEFORWWII
I'VE BEEN A PHOTOGRAPHER SINCE I GOT INTERRESTED IN VIETNAM IN 1970. I'VE USED ALL KINDS OF EQUIPMENT FROM THE LITTLE SUNPACK TO THE HONEYWELLS WEIGHING 8 LBS EACH.
I THINK WHEN I LEARN TO USE THIS UNIT PROPERLY, IT WILL PROBABLY BE THE LAST FLASH I'LL EVER NEED TO BUY.
IT'S VERSATILITY IS AMAZING AND WILL ALLOW ME TO "INVENT" AN EVEN MORE VERSITILE PRODUCT.

4 out of 5 stars Nikon SB600 Speedlight   July 29, 2010

Purchased for my Nikon DSLR, I have also tried it with a film SLR camera and it works well for both. In comparison to a fixed-position flash, this flash provides several possibilities to swivel / angle the flash discharge and the resulting effect is better than the typical washed-out faces and objects in direct light.

It is well-made, easy to attach to the hot shoe, and requires minimal reading of the manual to get started in the auto mode. I have kept the manual aside for a night time reading some day.

It takes 4 AA batteries, so the charging is quick and the recycle time is small enough.

Overall, it is a must-have addition to a Nikon DSLR.

2 out of 5 stars Great flash, poor reliability   July 27, 2010
Kim Byquist (Seattle, Wa United States)
I have used an SB-600 for 3-4 years with an older D50 body. The flash performance and versatility have been great until the unit started experiencing issues with the LCD display flashing on and off and the auto-zoom no longer functioning. Not the reliability I have come to expect since using Nikon products for nearly 30 years. Seems same issue exists for other owners.

5 out of 5 stars this flash is great   July 24, 2010

i cant say anything bad about it i am very happy with this flash i use it on my Nikon D5000 and if you take a lots of indoor pictures you should have this you can bounce flesh and pictures are great you cant do that with built in flash and built in flash is great as well but if you have 18-200 lens you get shadow with built in flash but not with this flash so go buy one i recommend this flash 100%

5 out of 5 stars much easier and more accurate than older models   July 21, 2010
JerandJan (Florida)
I've been using flash ever since the days of the Vivitar 283. Graduated to the Nikon sb24 and sb20, which were accurate and easy to use, but this one is just as easy, just as accurate and has more features. I researched it fully and borrowed one before buying. Works perfectly on my D90 and I hope to use more of it's features soon.
