Product Description Now you can take close-up shots like you never took before. Opteka proudly presents the next HD10X macro lens. Originally designed for dentists and medical use, the HD10X is now available to the public. Unlike current single element lenses, the HD10X has 4 elements of high definition optical glass that provides unbelievable detail. Cameras fitted with normal lenses do not permit us to move closer than a certain minimum distance from the object being photographed. The Close-Up lens, which is simply mounted in the front of our normal taking lens, permits the taking of close-ups and also makes possible the photography of details which would be quite impossible without using the Close-Up lens. The easy to use solution for getting extra close. These lenses enable you to get much closer than the minimum focus of the standard camera lens - as close as 4 inches from the subject. Ideal for cataloging small items and focusing on details.

Good and inexpensive upgrade/option September 1, 2008 C. L. Kocurek (Pennsylvania, USA) Good glass, solidly constructed. Works very well for stationary subjects; requires M-Focus as well as camera location adjustment, so moving shots (i.e. insects) can be tricky. Expect to lean in VERY close to the subject. I'm very pleased with this purchase, especially considering the price. Even if eventually replaced with a dedicated macro, this lens can always serve as a hand-held magnifying lens or smaller tag-along option. I currently use this with an EF 18-55 Canon kit lens.
Doesn't fit! August 30, 2008 Linda S. Cahill (Clearwater,FL) Bought it and tried to put it on my camera and it doesn't fit. Someone said I need to buy another lense to put this onto it. Why didn't they tell me that in the first place!
Don't bother. August 1, 2008 Emperor Norton III (San Francisco, CA United States) Very difficult to use. Have to focus manually more often than not. Comes with no instructions whatsoever. It is cheap, but still not worth it.
Excellent product! July 5, 2008 Solaceinsorrow It was exactly what I hoped it would be. You are able to pick up so much detail, it's really amazing.
Very efficient for my purpose June 16, 2008 RFB I bought the Opteka 10x as an achromat for a DIY 35mm adapter for a camcorder. It serves that purpose wonderfully, making zooming in and focusing on the GG a doddle.
