Product Description
Close-up lenses are high-quality optical magnifying lenses that shorten the close-focusing distance of the lens. It allows the lens to go closer to the subject than before and to achieve a larger image scale.Close-up filters are available in three diopters (strengths). Close-up +1 Diopter (101), Close-up +2 Diopter (102), Close-up +3 Diopter (103).

5 out of 5 stars Great product... actually Tiffen filter   May 22, 2008

I bought these filters because they were cheap and because I wanted to play around with them on my 50 mm f1.8. The depth of field is quite small with these filters on at 1.8. But for the price they are a great deal and i can't want to fully use them. Oh and for some reason these are listed as Adorama filters but actually tiffen 52mm filter set (box and all)) which sells for 34.95 from Adorama.

4 out of 5 stars Case needs altering to prevent scratching your filter...otherwise great product   April 14, 2008

I bought these filters for use with my Nikon D40x kit lens. (18-55mm). The magnification on these filters is great. I recommend them with the following caveat:

They come in a handy black case with red felt covered dividers, and a snap closure. The only problem with this is that the back of the snap closure on the case appears on the wall of the first of 3 filter compartments. This snap closure is metal and is not covered, so when pressing the snap to secure the lid closed, the case flexes, and the metal of the snap touches the filter.

This isn't a reason not to buy the filters (I recommend covering it with a small piece of felt), but it is something buyers should know.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent for makeshift macro photography   January 23, 2007

I have a Nikon D50 and I enjoyed using these filters with the kit lens (18-55mm). You can get very upclose and personal with flowers and still life, I've used them individually and all together. The filters come in a black hard button over case lined in red felt with three dividers for the individual filters. The quality is very exceptional and the construction is great. I highly recommend filters!
