Product Description Taking advantage of the high-speed image processing abilities of Casio's state-of-the-art Exilim Engine 4.0, which is built into the Exilim EX-S12, the new Dynamic Photo function allows the photographer to cut out the main subject of interest in an image that has just been captured and then combine it with another image to form the background. You can also cut and paste several rapid-succession images to create a moving subject on a still background. This function makes it easy to create composite scenes from an image juxtaposition that exists only in virtual reality, or they can create a composite image that conveys a certain message. Casio technologies like these are creating whole new avenues of enjoyment that go far beyond mere picture-taking, delivering greater creative and viewing pleasure. The EX-S12 has a stylish body measuring just 3.7 inches wide, 2.1 inches high and .6 inches thin (.5 inches at the thinnest part). It boasts a 3x optical zoom and a super clear, 2.7-inch widescreen LCD monitor and has an effective 12.1-megapixel resolution. It is finished in a design with both the high-class feel and beauty of stainless steel. Casio Exilim EX-S12 Highlights Newly-developed Exilim Engine 4.0 Representing a significant upgrade from the Exilim Engine 3.0, the Exilim Engine 4.0 is a powerful electronic package comprised of an ordinary CPU and a high-speed dedicated image processing CPU. It delivers outstanding color reproduction and a rich tonal range that guarantees superior visual expression. Noise reduction at high-sensitivity levels also helps to produce high-quality, beautiful images. Even better, despite the new image combination functionality and other functions that entail complex processing, energy consumption is about 30 percent lower than before, which means longer battery life. The new engine successfully combines the pursuit of radical new functionality with improvements to many conventional camera features. Dyn

Good Bang for the Buck July 12, 2010 yojimmy Great feature set for the price including HD video. Highly portable & excellent build quality. Controls & buttons are quite small making it a challenge for people with big fingers like me.
Great compact digital camera July 12, 2010 W. Jackson (Seattle, WA USA) Selected this camera for ease of use, fast shutter response, and picture quality and it seems to be doing great.
Casio Exilim S-12 camera July 12, 2010 WYODana Just about the smallest camera around, and it takes GREAT photos. Battery life is fantastic. Best-shot feature is nice. Everyone is jealous of my TINY awesome camera.
Only 2 things missing: GPS and HDMI output. June 23, 2010 Kevin Pludeman Other than that, this camera is nearly perfect. It could cost way more.
+ Low-light photos are very good (ISO 3200)
+ Separate video button
+ 720p video
+ Take still photos while videoing
+ Has timer (Casio EX-S5 does not)
+ Uses imager to increase zoom (5.8x at 3MP)
+ Very small and light
+ Lots of extra photo settings
+ Great battery life
- A little slow to start up
At the price, the few negatives are very easy to live with.
Just What I Ordered, Just What I Expected, June 22, 2010 P.A.E. (SF Bay Area, California) This is our third Exilim camera and. like the other two it's the perfect camera for what we want. It's easy to use, has all the features we need, has good picture quality, and it is relatively lightweight but sturdy.
We can comfortably carry the camera anywhere, and it's rugged enough to take some bouncing around. Uploading photos to our hard drive is simple.
The order shipped the day after we placed the order, and it arrived two days later, well packaged and in perfect condition.
Some friends who are more serious about photography than are we have tried our Exilims, and while they offer quibbles about features they would need that ours do not have, they acknowledge that the camera is just about right for our purposes, and they marvel at the price.
We're very satisfied
