Good card reader/writer! January 7, 2009 Cartin Araya Alvaro Ricardo I bought this card reader/writer one and a half month ago. The shipping and delivery of this device, from amazon, was very good. Although I just use SD-type cards, this reader works great. The system to take out the cards is very good and prevents damages to cards. Transfer speed when connect the reader in USB slot is same as an USB flash drive. Write and read speeds are very acceptable, and it works for me. I recommend this card reader.
Works fine, inexpensive, but latches are hard to open December 30, 2008 A Sanders (Florida) How much is there to say about a piece of electronics less than $15 other than whether it worked? I have a universal card bay on my desktop, but there is no ejector, and the SD cards were a pain to get out, so I ordered this. It works fine so far. I've only used the SD slot, but have used it on several computers with no issues. The only complaint is that the cover door on the SD side is very hard to unlatch. Like an old fashion locket, it requires serious fingernails. Strangely different from the other side which opens fine (but that I don't use). I needed to order one for my dad, and I knew this would drive him batty, so I got him this Sandisk MobileMate SD Plus Memory Card Reader
8GB SDHC Doesn't Work December 29, 2008 M. Smith (ravenna, ohio United States) The reader does not work consistently with Transcend 8 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card TS8GSDHC6. The LED doesn't light up unless the SDHC card is moved around while plugged in. Once the LED comes on, the card can be read. Windows XP on 2 computers complains that the device is not using USB 2.0. Tranfers are slow. It did work with a A-DATA 1GB SD card and a Sandisk 512MB MicroSD without issue.
Simple and good looking - all I needed. December 26, 2008 Jill Valentine Works just fine! I have used microSD cards from my phones and SD cards from my digital camera with no problems. And the design is functional and convenient. I don't think the plastic covers feel fragile at all. You're dealing with tiny, fragile cards, so I would think you'd be taking some care in dealing with them anyway.
does the job, very convenient micro SD slot December 21, 2008 J. Moncarsz (Miami, FL, USA) It's very convenient. Love being able to use the micro sd card without the need for an adapter, and also the fact that at the same time I can read a regular SD (3 different slots). The clip to secure the slots is a bit low quality and may break with use, but this will not affect the use of the reader. Does the job well. The first one I received had a defect, but the sender sent me a replacement right away which worked well til now.
