Poor design June 28, 2008 Joanne Pogorek (Spencer, Mass. USA) I thought this would be just the thing to have handy when reading and come across a new word. As others said, the built in light is not very bright and the bigger problem I had was when I was keying in the word I needed a definition for, I had to press down hard to get the letter to register. One word took 3 tries!! Didn't keep this one-certainly not worth the money.
What light?? August 27, 2007 . 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a waste of time and money. The light "included" doesn't light up anything. Don't bother -- you will only strain your eyes.
pretty cool January 13, 2007 R. holden (reluctantly in KY) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
well my kids got them for christmas and they love it. dont even really think of this as book light as its primary function. it has an excellent dictionary, games, word scrambles and more. For the person who wants nothing to do w/ a game boy. my 12 year old daughter and 14 year old son love this..they can read and get definitions immediatly. Keeps my daughter occupied all over the place. I enjoy using it to waste time while in airports, road trips. Great find, bought one for sis in law. book lite function is okay other functions are great
Disfunctional Light System January 7, 2007 Micky (Florida) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I received the Pagemark Dictionary as a gift. The first thing I noticed while trying to use it was that the light only illuminates one page at at a time and only half of that page bright enoungh to read. Another criticism is that when you lift the hinged cover high enough to try to shed light further down the page, then the light shines in your eyes. Another problem is the light does not illuminate the LCD screen so that is not readable either. Bad overall design. It could have all been improved by them comoing up with some sort of shading devise. In regards to the other features, I'm sure they function well.
